Community Planning Committee
Minutes, 18 November 2009
Present: Ron Meick, Danny Schweers, Ray Seigfried, and Sally Sharp. Ray Seigfried, chair, called this meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. at the Buzz Ware Village Center.
Minutes Approved
The committee approved the minutes of the September meeting. A quorum was not present for an October meeting.
Memorial Garden Sign
Ron has received three bids so far and, earlier in the day, had an Arden artist express interest in creating a stone sign. After getting that bid, the Committee will decide this issue by email.
Instant Ticketing
Recommendations for action continue to be widely divergent so, for the time being, this issue has been put on hold.
Website
Danny presented a draft policy for website content, including a first draft of a privacy policy. After gathering comments from the other committee members, the second draft of the policy was revised and can be seen by clicking here.
New Issues
At the Advisory Retreat next Saturday, Nov. 21, the Community Planning Committee may be asked to consider creating procedures for major actions within the village. Ray asked for suggestions of other issues Community Planning might pursue. Danny suggested that The Ardens get their own Zip Code. Ray suggested annexing the unincorporated "donut hole" properties in the center of the three villages. Sally suggested a sign ordinance to govern the type of sign that can be erected at commercial properties in Arden.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, January 20, 7:00 p.m. at The Buzz. This meeting adjourned at 8:21 p.m.
