Community Planning Committee
Minutes, 20 January 2010
Present: Ron Meick, Danny Schweers, and Ray Seigfried. Ray Seigfried, chair, called this meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. on stage at the Buzz Ware Village Center.
Minutes Approved
The committee approved the minutes of the November, 2009 meeting. There was no meeting in December.
Memorial Garden Sign
The Memorial Garden Sub-Committee has expressed a strong desire for a wooden sign and this committee agreed to go along with their recommendation.
Instant Ticketing
With no consensus in the village on this issue, it has been tabled.
Website
Danny met today with new website subcommittee members Joe Del Tufo and Larry Strange. Larry plans to develop a more robust Web presence for the Buzz Ware Village Center. Hopefully this will mean an increase in BWVC rentals, from the current 40%. The new site will be seamlessly integrated with the existing site.
Nominees
Harold Kalmus and Lillian Shah responded favorably when Danny asked them to be nominees for this committee in the March elections. One more nominee is needed.
Advisory Meeting Recommendations
At January's Advisory Committee meeting, Ray suggested several possible issues but only one found general approval: to explore ways of reducing the number of vacant houses in Arden, in concert with the Trustees.
